When my friend Ali came into town for the weekend, a photo walk through Muir woods was mentioned, it dawned on me that I had never visited the wondrous woods so I leapt at the idea.

a) Taking the bus from the park & ride off 101, was not the first choice. However it added the fear of falling off the cliff as we climbed around corners at ~78mph on bald tires. So starting off the adventure feeling as if we had cheated death was invigorating.
- roundtrip ticket $3

b) There was a 1/2 mile long boardwalk from the parking lot into the woods. It was a sort of stop gap between the city and nature; a nice transition as not to scare away slickers of the city.
- park entrance $5

c) Photos started snapping and the trail continued through magnificently manicured nature. Then the trail went to the moon. The idea that I may not have been prepared became evident when my thick selvedge jeans and thin-soled running shoes started talking to me saying “calm down with the incline, or we’ll start crying”
- ruined shoes $88

d) A groove was set and we started sinking into our serene settings. Nature was on its A game and then it decided to give us our monies worth. As if on cue a large buck appeared & magnanimously grazed his way past us filling me with a propensity to chase and capture. I perched up in a fallen tree to gain the correct perspective, but lacked the necessary length in my lens to be able to capture the beast properly.
- sitting and appreciating nature / priceless

Just kidding it cost $101. And no, I’m not terrible at maths.

-Golden Gate’s bridge toll – $5

Incredible photos my friend. When I’m out in December, we need to do something like this! By the way, when do I get to see this video of yours?!
