Tribute SF

TRIBUTE | SF was born out of an idea I had that there was a lack of representation of people making tangible things in the city of San Francisco. The online narrative was dominated by tech news and gossip, and SF at the time was so much more robust and creative. So I began reaching out to small makers in the city, asking to tell their stories. Eventually I received responses from a small handful of companies and it snowballed from there. There were publications in SF Magazine and SF Curbed, which helped to spread the word of people doing big things in the small city.

Biography

It has been 11 years since I began creating short form videos, and I’m glad to be able to share them with you here.

I’ve been working as a freelance producer + editor, with brief stints in-house helping new companies build out their workflow for daily video production.

Having recently completed my MA in Directing and Producing Television Entertainment at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England, I now enter a new chapter of being able to share with you new projects and skills.

Experience

Jared Frazer is an Edinburgh-based director, producer, editor and storyteller with over a decade of experience.

In 2010 Jared founded San Francisco’s local taste-making production company, TributeSF with a mission to create a new crop of local storytellers, giving access to tastemakers, brands and innovators across the San Francisco Bay Area. Jared is known for producing high quality video, with an innovative approach to story construction.

Jared’s work challenges what we recognize as the shortage of historical perspectives in a field of digital social memory. Characterized by broad participation, collaboration and stories by a generation who already considers these stories ancient history.

Jared received his MA in Directing and Producing Television Entertainment at the world renowned National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England. During his time which he worked on a half hour comedy adventure show SNATCHED, where he led casting, story, production and Directing. The TV project highlighted youth culture’s addiction to our phones through a high stakes obstacle course of offline versions of our most beloved apps.

Jared’s work has been featured Curbed SF, Hypebeast, RollingStone, Monocle, and many others. Jared has been a guest lecturer for content teams at (formerly) Twitter and other Silicon Valley startups.
